I’m not a very organized person – not really into lists and the like. I’ll admit that I did try! But I just couldn’t do it. But more recently, I’ve discovered the joy of creating rhythm in daily life.
This involves looking into myself a lot more. What do I value? Finding out what makes me tick? What time am I at my best? When do I feel the most energetic? What am I drawn to? Do I feel drawn to do a particular activity at a particular time of day? When do I feel stressed? What do I look forward to with joy?
A routine focuses on specific details, a rhythm is about an overall direction. A routine is about rules, a rhythm is about grace. A routine is about the how, a rhythm is about a deeper purpose—the why. A routine is about what I do, a rhythm is about who I’m becoming.

So now I’m working towards letting my rhythm define my routine as far as possible and I feel less guilty and more settled and at peace.
