What’s the landscape of my heart? Strange question?
Today’s prompt: What is the landscape of your heart? What place moves your soul? Flat desert or dry heat? Mountains and pine trees? City streets? The Midwest or the New England you grew up in? Or maybe a landscape that you’ve only read about or seen in a film. Don’t think; trust whatever comes up for you.
The Landscape Of My Heart
The beach. It has always captured my imagination at first. Then, every time I experienced it, the beach spoke to my soul.

I remember the first time I was alone on a beach. How I reveled in that time. Staring out into the vast horizon beyond the rolling waves. Walking on sand, feeling it between my feet. My feet firmly plated on Earth, but feeling one, but feeling one with my Maker and marveling at the sheer vastness of creation. How could I not be wonder struck by this landscape?
It was an experience that I was blessed enough to have repeated several times since the first time. The sea and and beaches draw me – a spiritual experiences like no other.
I’ve been writing every day since 15 August 2022 — a five minute write in response to a prompt from the book, Kicking In The Wall and other prompts, as a 100 Day Writing Challenge to myself. I write in a notebook the night before and publish it the next day – so that might explain references to pen, paper, night etc )
My happy place is our family farm in Ohio. The beautiful rolling hills and unconditional love are what draw me back.
