Today’s Prompt: Write about a time you were unfairly accused of doing something wrong.
Unfairly Accused
The senior most employee of the NGO I was working for sent out his resume deliberately using the official email address. Since, I was monitoring the organization’s email and social media, I immediately blocked his access to that email account. Who knew what he would do next? I thought it was necessary to bring this to the notice of the Director of the organization immediately and I called him after office hours. The Director thanked me and we discussed this in person the next day.
Imagine my surprise, when a few months later, I was accused of stressing out the Director after office hours with something as ‘trivial’ as this!
So unfair. And so dishonest of the Director, I thought. Glad to have quit that toxic workplace.
I’ve been writing every day since 15 August 2022 — a five minute write in response to a prompt from the book, Kicking In The Wall and other prompts, as a 100 Day Writing Challenge to myself. I write in a notebook the night before and publish it the next day – so that might explain references to pen, paper, night etc )
