It’s been too long since I wrote here. But I’m glad to be here and getting my writing back on track.
Life can get in the way of our writing. When you’re struggling with frustrating circumstances, I’ve learnt that changing how you think can help you stop blaming your job, family, or anything else that’s keeping you from writing.
Here’s a few things that helped me with getting my writing back on track:
Focusing on Morning Pages
This has kept me sane. Writing without filters and expressing myself without having to think has kept me going. The act of putting pen to paper is truly good for my brain! Thanks, Julia Cameron!
Making peace with my circumstances
There were so many things going on in my life simultaneously that I found it hard to cope with writing regularly. I made peace with the feeling of frustration – of knowing that I have many things to write about, many words to write, but feeling shackled.
I shifted my mindset and tried to turn this challenging time into an opportunity, by tuning into podcasts, scribbling down ideas, reading inspiring books.
Focusing on my priorities
As writers, we often want to have it all. It’s not always possible. And we must make peace with this by prioritising things.
In the months that went by my attention on packing and moving and a whole lot of other paperwork and stress, didn’t allow me to really write as much or as meaningfully as I would have liked. I had to prioritise.
But as far as possible I kept to the simpler practices and tried my best to blog regularly on Everyday Gyaan.
My affirmation practice really helped me here. Picking up a small mantra for the day and repeating it to myself worked. Mantras like – ‘One thing at a time‘ or ‘Done not perfect‘ really made a difference.
What I’ve learned in these months is that all the difficult days and busy times have informed my writing and have help me to be more focused.
And it always help to remember Anne Lamott’s classic words: “Bird by bird, buddy. Just take it bird by bird.”
My Writing Plan

Just thought I’d share my writing plan for the next few months with you, so you’ll know where you can find me! 🙂

Tuesdays – Bytes of Gyaan
Wednesdays – write here, right here on The Frangipani Creative
Thursdays/ Fridays – Write Vibes on Substack.
Until next Wednesday, may you have an intentional and meaningful days!
Sometimes there is a will, but no way! So many things hit you from all sides that you are struggling to just catch your breath, forget about taking the time to write. I too have been in this place for some time now.
However, I have always found the time to write my morning pages, because that has always grounded me. Thank you for introducing me to the concept.
Maybe it’s time to get out the notebook and write more now. My books and blogs are calling to me!
