With the April Blogging from A to Z Challenge starting today, I thought it was a good time to talk about the 3 Cs of a Blogging Challenge. These are things that I’ve learned from completing (and sometimes not completing!) a few blogging challenges.
The 3 Cs Of A Blogging Challenge
There are various reasons why bloggers should undertake Blogging Challenges now and again. It pushes a blogger out of their comfort zone, and like any challenge gets them motivated to do more than they usually do. With my experience of the A to Z challenge I learned :
#1 Consistency
You really learn how to be consistent by blogging every day. You learn to be disciplined about blogging by
- keeping your content ready,
- have your posts scheduled/ out on time
- comment consistently
- respond to comments you receive.
So consistency is a big part of what you learn from a challenge.
#2 Creativity
With the A to Z Challenge, you are already challenged to find 26 posts for every letter of the alphabet. But the idea of having themes, and people turning their posts into books, there is a lot of scope for creativity.
#3 Community
Blogging challenges are a great way to build community. This is especially true if you are a new blogger, trying to find your ‘tribe’. You will find lots of like-minded people. I’ve connected with dog lovers and book lovers from around the world.
In case you didn’t know, Write Tribe was born out of a group of bloggers who undertook the Blogging from A to Z Challenge together in 2013! Read more of that back story on the A to Z website.
Have you undertaken any blogging challenges? You still have time until 6th April to register for the A to Z challenge. If you want to start simple you can join us for our Write Tribe Festival of Words – 7 day Challenge when we hold it next!
