This year, I’ve decided to follow the advice of Ray Bradbury and feed myself on a diet of words.
Just write every day of your life. Read intensely. Then see what happens. Most of my friends who are put on that diet have very pleasant careers.

A Diet Of Words

A diet of words
That’s what Ray Bradbury prescribes.
I’ve been trying it out for the last few weeks
And it works well
Reading intensely
Devouring the words
Enjoying the writing of others
And then I write
Letting my words flow
Stilling that inner critic
Not trying too hard
Not writing to impress
But writing from the heart
I’ve realized how easy that can be
To let the words that have been lingering
In the corners of your mind
See the light of day
To let the world know what I think
How I feel, what I believe in
Easy….

I love a diet of words. I write everyday, read on most of the days, but I still lack a discipline. Stilling the inner critic is a difficult task, isn’t it? A steady diet of words will slowly do the needful. Thanks for the reminders, Corinne. 🙂

I too should follow this diet, Corinne, especially shutting down that inner critic which always aims for perfection! I picked up a book to read after ages and I also blogged after good about eight months, thanks to Friday Reflections ❤

Oh yes. I agree.
Writing just for the joy of writing. I have been reading a lot recently but not writing much. That’s why took up blog chatter’s #WriteAPageADay. Just for the love of free writing.
Love the idea of the “diet of words” that you’ve just shared in this post, Corinne! For me, writing from the heart is a great point to make a start and it almost always works. Reflections are such an essential part of our growth as individuals. So excited to know that you three have started #FridayReflections again.
Would love to join in for sure. 🙂

‘stilling of inner critic’, is such an important one for those to want to write and hit publish. I love this diet and such a healthy one for mind too. Some important reflections and reminders, Corinne.
I am glad we got on this routine. Thank you for the nudge! So happy to be here!

This year, I’m determined to do more regular features to keep the writing flowing. Last year, I attempted to do a 31 Day challenge and stopped at the half way mark. So when I saw a 28 Day challenge for this month, I decided to complete the earlier challenge and then add a few more posts. Keeping the words flowing and also reading more blogs and interacting is helping me a lot so far!
Good luck to you too and let’s sustain this!
A diet of words is, indeed, the best way to learn to express your inner thoughts. I so agree with it, Corinne. It becomes a wonderful habit, right? 🙂
Yes, it does. Keeps me sane and focused too!
